CCT Elders

Pete Hay – CCT Leader

Pete is married to Marian and they have raised 3 girls who are now married. He has grown up in Basingstoke Community Churches and served in various leadership roles over the years whilst working in business.


When not leading the church he can be found enjoying the countryside, mountain biking, baking sourdough bread, volunteering in the community or helping lead charities.


Alistair Bodin

Alistair is married to Valerie and they have 5 children who have all flown the nest.

They also have many lovely grandchildren. They have been a part of CCT for over 30 years, but are still very much young at heart.

Alistair enjoys playing bridge, family, the odd bit of cycling walking and DIY (which the children appreciate).

John Braithwaite

John lives in Ufton Nervet, near Tadley. Married to Ellen, and father to four sons: Samuel, Joshua, Daniel and Isaac.

An entrepreneur, he works in Central Reading. He has been a member of CCT church for 12 years, and his family has been a part of the BCC network for almost 18 years. He is also on the board of YWAM England.

He likes cycling, baking and is a cricket coach at his local club.

Jonathan Dunn

Jonathan lives with his wife Claire, in Kingsclere. They have three grown up children, all of whom are married, and 3 lovely grandchildren.

Jonathan works locally as MD of a business consultancy. 

His interests outside of work and church (beyond doting over his grandchildren) are cycling, cooking/eating, and music – especially the 80’s!

Church Administrator

Shirly Vassie

Shirly lives in Central Tadley is married to Ed, has two adult daughters and is currently hosting a young lady from Ukraine.

She has been a member of CCT for over 16 years and before taking on the role of part time Church Administrator in September 2021 she had over 19 years admin experience with the University of Reading. On Tuesday mornings you will see her volunteering at the Age Concern Lunch Club.

She likes travelling which has included a 3 month world cruise in early 2024, walking and enjoys engaging with her neighbours and the local community.

Geoff Allwright

Geoff lives in Headley, near Tadley. Married to Christine, and father to 3 sons, a daughter and now a grandfather to 4 granddaughters too!

Geoff retired from Airbus in October 2020, having been their Travel Manager for many years. He has been a member of CCT church for over 16 years, and was the leader of the youth work for 15 years.

He likes cycling, is a “footpath warden” in Headley, volunteers in the local shop and enjoys travelling with Christine to Uganda and Norway where 2 of their sons live.


Marian Hay

Marian is married to Pete and has the same 3 grown-up daughters. They have recently moved to Tadley.

Having grown up on a farm, she loves the outdoors lifestyle, walking, open water swimming and gardening.

She also enjoys showing hospitality and making speciality cakes.

Samuel Dunn

Sam is Tadley born and bred! He has spent many years as part of Community church Tadley before getting married and moving to Basingstoke. Sam and his wife Megan have since moved back to Tadley along with their baby, Willow. Sam a passionate justice advocate having spent 8 years working for a child development charity which has led him to now work as Tadley’s children and youth community pastor where a large portion of his work is focused on supporting schools in and around Tadley.

Sam loves to be outside whenever he can either running or walking with his family & dog or if given the opportunity Sam loves doing carpentry as well!
