SAMS

We are proud to be partners with SAMS: Support and Advocacy for Minds and Souls. 

SAMS has been birthed out of the work of our current Children and Youth Community Pastor. They specialise in early intervention work, youth pastoral care and community justice. SAMS exists to see the lives of children and young people transformed through discovering hope, igniting justice and empowering compassion.

SAMS: Support and Advocacy for Minds and Souls

We love the schools in our community and are passionate to support as much as we can through our volunteers and our Children and Youth Community Pastor. We’re currently supporting 5 schools on a weekly basis with 9 coaches supporting children across different primary schools. Through the work of TLG and SAMS we’re able to offer emotional and mental wellbeing support to vulnerable children referred to us via the school. Coaches meet with their coached child for one hour every week, for one year. 

We also support schools with reading mentors, where volunteers go in weekly to listen to children read. A small gesture but with significant impact. We’re constantly seeking to support our local schools in whatever way we can and continue to work with schools ensuring we meet their needs as best we can.
